GAELIC EVENING CLASSES

Aberdeen Gaelic club are running Gaelic Language evening classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students in Harlaw Academy, Albyn Place, Aberdeen. Classes will commence on Tuesday 14 February 2012 for a seven week course.

Beginner & Intermediate classes are held on a Tuesday evening, 7-9pm and Advanced on a Wednesday evening from 7-9pm.

Full fee – £42 (with 50% discount available for full time students and parents of children in Gaelic Medium education).

Weekend courses

Aberdeen Gaelic Club’s next weekend course will be held on 3 and 4 March 2012. We’ll be catering for beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. Fees £25 per day. Half price for full-time students and parents of children attending Gaelic Medium Unit in Aberdeen. Mother and toddler group

A mother and toddler group meets two times a week (Wednesday and Friday 9.15-11.10am) at Gilcomstoun Primary School, Skene Street, Aberdeen. The aim of the group is to introduce children aged 0-3 and their parents to Gaelic through arts, crafts, play and song. For further information contact croileagan@gmail.com.

Gaelic medium nursery and primary school

The Gaelic Medium Unit at Gilcomstoun Primary School, Skene Street, Aberdeen caters for nursery and primary pupils from all over the city. Children within the Gaelic unit are fully integrated within the school and partake in various activities including assemblies, school trips, a visit to the local Mod in Inverness (where they have had a great deal of success over the past few years) and various Gaelic television productions. The children are taught the full curriculum through the medium of Gaelic and should be at the same levels in all subjects as their counterparts by Primary 7 but with the added benefit of being bi-lingual. Most children within the Gaelic Medium Unit have parents with little or no Gaelic.
