We hope to run two classes, one for recent beginners and one for intermediate/advanced level students. Our next coffee afternoon will take place on Saturday 30 January 2016 in the Unitarian Church, Skene Terrace, Aberdeen, 2.30pm – 4.30pm with our Children’s Club running from 3-4pm.. All welcome, from beginners to fluent speakers. £2.50 adults, £3 for children’s club.
Our evening classes will recommence week beginning 11 January 2016 in Rosemount Community Centre, 7-9pm for a ten week term. Fees (payable on the first night of class) are £75 (£37.50 for full time students and parents of children attending Gaelic Medium school). We hope to run the following classes: Wednesday 13 Jan (Intermediate and recent beginners), Thursday 14 Jan (beginners). These classes are a continuation from last term so unfortunately we will not be able to cater for complete beginners. However if you already have a little bit of Gaelic we may be able to slot you in somewhere. Classes will only run if we have enough people to cover our costs. A rare opportunity to learn traditional Gaelic song in Aberdeen from one of Scotland’s finest Gaelic singers. Gillebrìde, who is from South Uist, has recorded two solo albums, Air Fòrladh and Thogainn Ort Fonn!, as well as recording with the group Na Seòid. A song workshop for Gaelic speakers (morning) and/or a workshop for mixed ability, including those with no Gaelic, (afternoon) are being run in parallel with a Gaelic language workshop (mixed ability) with the ever popular Alec ‘Bhaltos’ MacDonald. Choose to attend for a half-day or full-day. All welcome!

Dr Jake King of Sabhal Mor Ostaig and Edinburgh University will give a talk on the Gaelic Place-names of North East Scotland on Friday 3 October at 7pm in the Sanctuary, Queens Cross Church, Aberdeen. £8/£5 concession.
